German WW I Breastplate Body armour

Vest, armour, German, 1917 captured by 72nd Battalion, CEF. (Painted capture markings on centre of chest now partly scraped off, but Colin Stevens remembers it said 72nd Battalion). It may say " __ April 1917" which would make it Vimy Ridge. Worn by German snipers, sentries and machine gun crews. The attached photo from the website of Colin Stevens shows this body armour, a German WW I MP-18 submachine gun and a German Gewehr KAR 98 rifle. It was displayed in Case 3B of the Old Museum at the Seaforth Armoury. There is also a colour photo of a German POW wearing this armour.
