German WW I mess tin lid
Mess tin lid from WWI with names, issued to a Canadian POW in Germany (see ration booklet)
The back of a card states: "Part of trade for SN Enfield [btb Snider-Enfield carbine]. Capt. G. Croucher" . The receipt mentions a German mess tin set (1973.31.2A & B) and a POW ration book (1973.31.3). The receipt also states: ""Part of trade other material for Snider-Enfield carbine / 3rd best."
