Finnish [Red] Legion flag

Flag ' Banner, Finnish Legion circa 1918 / 1919 from the Allied Intervention into North Russia. Wording in Russian and Finnish - Rough translation. "Workers of the World Unite …. The Finnish Legion. The flag was possibly from Col. Leckie. It consisted of Finnish [Red] Communists fighting alongside the Allies against German inspired "White" Finns. The unit was soon disbanded. It was a very unusual and short-lived unit. Finland had just declared independence from Russia in 1917. A civil war then ensued. The Reds lost and appealed to the newly installed Bolsheviks in Russia. They briefly allied themselves with the Allied Intervention Forces.
