TRAINING IN THE UNITED KINGDOM, 1939 - 1943
FORMATION AU ROYAUME-UNI, 1939-1943
No. 4 Coy SH of C Kilt Apron, April 1940 (signed)
Kilt Apron -signed by the soldiers of No. 4 Company, 1st Battalion Seaforth Highlanders of Canada, April 1940.
Kilt Aprons (covers) were worn by Highland regiments on active service. Not only did the apron protect the kilt but it also made the kilt less conspicous in the field. It is a brown canvas apron with tape tie in a seam at the top, a single button flap pocket in the centre (actng as a sporran).
