Black Artillery Shell (Boer War)
Black Artillery Shell, 4" long x 1.5" diameter from the Boer War INERT. It is a souvenir of William Donaldson from the Imperial Seaforths.
From Captain Rob MacDonald: "Shell captured by the Boers from the British and fired at the British presumably donated by one of the Boer War vets such as Leckie or Godson. This shell has sat in the Hogans Alley corner of the Mess for the whole of my service."
