Leather Pouch for map pencils (Lt Nasmith)

Leather Pouch with the inscription, "Lt S.J. Nasmith 231st Battalion CEF (Canadian Expeditionary Force), later, 72nd Seaforth Battalion Captain-MC", marked with maker's name, "Storey and Campbell Makers, Vancouver BC", The pouch is for map marking pencils and things. Samuel Jackson Nasmith was later promoted to Captain and awarded the Military Cross at Valenciennes for the battles in October - November, 1918. He arrived in France on 6 September, 1917. His name has also been spelt "Naismith". CEF service file attached. Storey and Campbell Makers was established by Jonathan Storey and Roderick Campbell, Jr., in 1892. The Storey and Campbell Company began by handling the wholesale and retail sale of transportation paraphernalia (harnesses, saddlery, trunks, etc). As the times changed and automobiles and trucks started to replace horses and wagons, the company switched gears and became the sole agents in British Columbia for Studebaker commercial trucks.
