Card - "This Cross is presented to you in memory of one who in the Great War died for King and Country - H. Guthrie Minister of Militia and Defense". NOTE: Hugh Guthrie was the Minister from 1920 -1921 so this card belongs to a WW I medal. This card most likely belongs to Lt. C.G. McLean, Canadian Machine Gun Corps who was killed in action in France on 9 April, 1918. [Attached documents]. [Presumably accompanied by a Mother's Cross, possibly one of those donated in Accession 1990.014 as these medals were mixed in with the McLean & Rife items]. The location of this cross is not known.
