Bisley Queen's Prize winner L/Cpl Gunnar Westling, SHC, 1960

L/Cpl Gunnar Westling, SHC, being "chaired" in honour of his winning the Queen's Prize" in shooting at Bisley, England. On rear: " L/Cpl Gunnar Wesling" In Sgts Mess as of 22 Jan 2018. From DCRA website: "At age 40, Gunnar Westling started shooting, later in life than most people. Remarkably, he still managed to make eight Bisley Teams, to win the Canadian Fullbore Rifle Championship once and to place second once. His greatest achievement however, was to win the Queen’s Prize at Bisley in 1960. Gunnar made the Queen’s Prize Final twice and was in the Top 50 of the Grand Aggregate once. Gunnar’s son, Ken, is also a member of the DCRA Hall of Fame". Ken Westling has qualified for eighteen Bisley Teams to date. He has won two Canadian Fullbore Rifle Championships and has come second twice. In the Grand Aggregate, he has placed first, second and third, each on one occasion. For the Governor General’s Prize, he has placed second on one occasion. At Bisley, Ken made the Queen’s Prize Final twice.
