The German POW worked out of Black's Logging Agency in Vancouver prior to the War. He went home to Germany on a holiday and wound up in the German Army. Rather ironic he should be taken prisoner by a Vancouver Regt. The Swastika flag in the foreground was signed by all the members of the picture and given to Major General McNaughton by Major "Budge" Bell-Irving when the Coy was in rest at "Happy Valley".
