Framed SHC Sergeant's Cap Badge - Presented to Lieutenant Colonel T.S. Leslie by the Sergeants Mess on 6 October, 1939. It was presented [to the Regiment] by Lieutenant Colonel Ian Bell-Irving at Christmas, 1958. Lt Col Thomas Soga Leslie, ED was veteran of the Great War and the inter-war year SH of C. He was the Commanding Officer from 1 October, 1938 to 1 September, 1939. He was 56 years old and deemed too old to command a battalion in wartime. Thus, command of the overseas battalion was to fell to Lt-Col. J. B. Stevenson, ED.
