Sight, clinometer, Mk III, for Vickers .303". Also noted as a Vickers MMG level. There may be a second sight that has not been accessioned and labelled. IT MAY HAVE A RADIATION TAG #008123 ON IT. Used for sighting long range fire or a fixed line of fire for a Vickers .303 inch machine gun. The top of the clinometer sight contains a spirit level and at each end there is a brass and steel winder that can depress or elevate the clinometer from minus twenty degrees to plus twenty degrees. The brass scale is graded in five degree units. A dove tailed steel base plate has been fitted to allow attachment to a Vickers machine gun. CONFIRM - RETURNED TO DONOR - POSSIBLY IN 2011
