Pattern 1937 Webbing Anklet (Gaitor)

Canadian WW II Pattern 1937 Khaki Gaiter (anklet) Canadian Army issue, marked "D. A. Co's 1943" and size "2" and Canadian issue mark. left Foot The 1937 Pattern Web Equipment (also known as '37 Webbing') was an item of military load-carrying equipment and uniform. Anklets were to be worn with Battledress at all times with the exceptions of being off duty, on duty in offices, kitchens, canteens or when rubber boots were worn. Webbing anklets are sometimes reinforced with leather and the tips of the straps are reinforced with metal tabs. Both Canadian and British manufacture anklets were worn. These were originally khaki coloured. They were issued in left and right pairs, buckles were worn on the outside of the ankle, tabs towards the rear. British anklets were similar to Canadian, but the straps were made of leather.
