Wrist Watch, Pte Rife, 1916
Wrist Watch with protective cover, leather strap and no hands. The Cage cover looks like a pin-wheel. Engraved on back under strap "S.E.R. Apr. 15th 16"
Thus 15 April 1916. The initials are almost certainly those of Samuel E. Rife.
130100 Private Samuel E. Rife arrived with the 72nd Battalion to France on 13 August 1916 and was wounded at Vimy Ridge on 9 April, 1917.
