Honourary Colonel Eric W. Hamber presenting Guidon to Captain Jim Baldwin of the Seaforth Company of the First Canadian HIghland Battalion, 27th Brigade bound for Germany, The Lance (flag staff) is Brigadier General Clark's guidon (pennant) from WW I. This is possibly a newspaper clipping. The location of this guidon is unknown. Captain E. W. Hamber was born and educated in Winnipeg and came to Vancouver to become an executive in his father-in-law's lumber business. Later, he became head of a number of large business corporations, was appointed Lieutenant-Governor of British Columbia (1936-1941), Chancellor of the University of British Columbia (1945-1948) as well as holding numerous other public offices. In 1911 he held the provisional rank of Captain with the 72nd Regiment.
