Bisley Winners - Lieutenant Colonel R.M. Blair & Sgt Westling, 1960s

Lieutenant Colonel Blair and Sgt Westling. Both of these men were winners at Bisley, England. From the DCRA website: Lieutenant Colonel Robert Mills Blair qualified for four Bisley Teams and was Canadian Fullbore Rifle Champion on three occasions. At Bisley, he won both the Queen’s Prize and the Grand Aggregate in 1929, being the only person to win both in the same year. He made two Queen’s Prize Finals and was in the Grand Aggregate Top 50 on one occasion. At age 40, Gunnar Westling started shooting, later in life than most people. Remarkably, he still managed to make eight Bisley Teams, to win the Canadian Fullbore Rifle Championship once and to place second once. His greatest achievement however, was to win the Queen’s Prize at Bisley in 1960. Gunnar made the Queen’s Prize Final twice and was in the Top 50 of the Grand Aggregate once. Gunnar’s son, Ken, is also a member of the DCRA Hall of Fame.
