Cap Badge - The Lovat Scouts

Cap Badge - The Lovat Scouts (Imperial Yeomanry) - 113th/114th Companies. Lovats Scouts Field service cap Other Ranks - Post 1922 This badge was sold by Jim Purdy for $25.00 on e-Bay in the Spring/Summer of 2017. This badge was deemed irrelevant to the museum. The money was used to purchase relevant badges for the collection. The Lovat Scouts were a British Army unit. The unit was first formed during the Second Boer War as a Scottish Highland yeomanry regiment of the British Army and is the first known military unit to wear a ghillie suit. In 1916, these scouts formally became the British Army's first sniper unit, then known as sharpshooters.
