Cap Badge - Lovat Scouts

Cap Badge - Lovat Scouts labelled as "Lord Lovat Scouts" This type of badge with the "Je Suis Prest" ("I am Ready" - motto of the Clan Fraser} and garter belt were used by the 113th and 114th Companies (Lovat's Scouts) Imperial Yeomanry, 1900 - 1902 as well as after 1922 by the Lovat's Scouts. The Lovat Scouts were a British Army unit. The unit was first formed during the Second Boer War as a Scottish Highland yeomanry regiment of the British Army and is the first known military unit to wear a ghillie suit. In 1916, these scouts formally became the British Army's first sniper unit, then known as sharpshooters.
