Seaforth Other Ranks Cap Badge
Cap Badge - Seaforth Highlanders of Canada Officer's Badge (Not 3D).
Seaforth Highlanders of Canada Cap Badge with bastardized / stamped 1930s badge (minus "L" and coronet) To be worm y Other Ranks and Senior NCOS.
According to Jim Purdy this badge was issued in 1923 but it had limited wear. Apparently, even Other Ranks and NCOs wore them. The cornet, cypher and stag's head are all connected and not 3D. There are 2 lugs on the rear.
From Colin Stevens: When Lieutenant Colin M. Stevens showed one of these to Brigadier J.A. Clark about 1974, he said in effect "That damned thing!" Ottawa came up with it but we refused to wear it. Only the officers wear the L and coronet." The badge shows up as the "official" badge but it is the wrong badge.
In the mid-1970s, there were not enough Seaforth officers' 3-D silver cap badges so some junior officers made do withn this one. One junior oficer wore this stamped pattern badge (with the antler tines bent outwards).
