SEAFORTHS IN WORLD WAR II
SEAFORTHS PENDANT LA DEUXIÈME GUERRE MONDIALE
Silver Seaforth ring
Silver Seaforth Highlanders of Canada ring believed to belong to Sgt Molson found in a garden in Vernon, BC. Inside the ring is engraved "C.H. Molson, Holland 1945". The ring belonged to Sergeant Molson who was in the Regiment in 1945. The ring was given to the Redgwell family in the 1970s who thought that it was a ring from the Elks Club.
Charlie Molson worked in Armstrong, BC as a bookkeeperwith Major W.D. Blackburn after the War in 1946. Molson left Armstrong soon after marrying the local hospital matron. He may have moved to Trail or Kimberley.
The attached correspondence was sent directly to Robert Goddard of the Regimental Association.
Sergeant Charles H. "Moose" Molson, #K53089 served in the Seaforths from 11 May, 1940 to 16 August, 1945.
[THE ACCESSION FILE DOES NOT STATE WHY THEY THINK THAT THE RING BELONGED TO SGT MOLSON. THE EXCEL SPREADSHEET STATES THAT THIS MAY BE A DOUBLE ENTRY BUT THIS HAS NOT BEEN CONFIRMED.]
