M1917 Enfield Rifle

Rifle, Enfield, Model P-17 Made by Eddystone SN 731804 (Serial number on bolt). Grey parkerizing on rear of bolt. Stamped under arm "SN" "W" On top of arm, US flaming bomb ordnance mark. Calibre .30-06. PARTS REMOVED FOR SECURITY. NOTE: THERE WAS AN OLD TAG ON THIS RIFLE SO IT MAY BE ACCESSIONED WITH A NUMBER FROM BEFORE 2007. IT IS MENTIONED ON THE 1991 FIREARMS LIST BUT IT DOES NOT HAVE AN ACCESSION NUMBER ATTACHED TO IT. Often called the "American Enfield" or M1917 Enfield. Officially called the "United States Rifle, caliber .30, Model of 1917. Eddystone was a subsidiary of Remington Arms located at the Baldwin Locomotive Works in Eddystone, Pennsylvania, USA. NOTE: An old accession tag had ripped off leaving the string so it is likely also under an old number.
