Webley Mark VI Revolver

Webley Mark VI Revolver, chambered in .455. Serial number 414860. Donated by Honorary Colonel John Allen Fraser. This revolver belonged to his father, Clarence R. Fraser who served as a stretcher-bearer in the Canadian 4th Field Ambulance from 1914 to early 1917. Several weeks before the Battle of Vimy, he was sent to Great Britain to train as a pilot with the Royal Flying Corps. He flew with a Canadian Reconnaissance Squadron from November 1917 until November 1918 and then afterwards, for some months, with occupation forces in France/Germany. When his father completed his flying training, he was commissioned as an officer and it was at that time, so he told him, he was issued the Webley-Scott revolver. Whether he was issued the revolver in England or after he joined his squadron in France, he did not know.
