Bagpipe case of PM Ed Esson, 1936

Case for Ed Esson bagpipes. Originally presented to Pipe Major Esson. M.B.E. at coronation of King George VI and willed to Hugh Aird. The Seaforth Museum may lend them to a band member for playing as long as they are playable. When no longer playable they will be returned to Museum. Sgt (later Pipe Major) Vern Kennedy currently plays these pipes.
