Seaforth washing up with a donkey at Leonforte, Sicily, 1943

Seaforth washing up with a donkey at Leonforte (confirm location is not Agira (believed to be Leonforte) as identified on an old card), Sicily, 28 July 1943, Corporal Pete Labrie. Official Caption (Canadian Army Overseas Photo (22263-N): "Cpl. Pete Labrie of the SH of C of Vancouver and the donkey became fast friends during this intimate scene which occurred recently in Sicily. Cpl Labrie wanted to wash and the donkey felt like a cool drink. The Canadian Army photographer who took this picture reports that the donkey took no exception to a Canadian soldier washing in its drinking water." Cpl. Labrie served in the Seaforths from 6 September, 1939 until he was wounded near Agira, Sicily on 28 July, 1943.
