Gravestone of Sgt George A. Sellers, 72nd Bn CEF at Mountain View Cemetery

Gravestone of Sgt George A. Sellers, 72nd Battalion, Seaforth Highlanders of Canada at Mountain View Cemetery, Vancouver in 1997. He died on 26 June 1958. On rear: "MV 97" 760275 Sgt George Alexander Sellers originally enlisted in the 121st (Western Irish) Battalion, CEF based in New Westminster, BC on 1 December 1915. He then transferred to the 1st Pioneers, CEF. He had previously served in the Gordon Highlanders for 12 years and the 72nd Regiment for 3 years and one year in the Duke of Connaught's Own Rifles for a year. Despite the gravestone, it does not appears that he ever served in the 72nd Battalion, CEF. The 80th Battalion became the 1st Pioneers with 1st Division; became the 9th Battalion Canadian Railway Troops.
