Searching German Prisoners of War in WW I
A Cavalry sergeant searching German Prisoners of War in WW I. He is wearing high leather riding boots (or leather leggings), breeches, a forage cap and a dark armband on his right arm.
From CEF research forum (attached), Re: armbands :
"Barris's Victory at Vimy", page 153 it relates the armband codes as follows:
GREEN - scouts, for guiding advancing troops
RED - messengers, running messages back and forth
WHITE - mop up troops
YELLOW - supplies, such as picks, shovels, waters, bombs
BLUE - company signallers
Possibly a double with 2007.420.001
