Colour WW I humourous cartoon postcards printed by the Regent Publishing Co. Ltd., London N.W. (ALL BRITISH). "SERGEANT: What is a fine sight?" / PRIVATE: "Two dinners on one plate.". The card was 2601 in ‘The Regent Series’. On the rear in pencil: "Dear Nell I hope you are not lonely so cheer up my old gall / Nell I guess it would be a fine night." This was a postcard written by Abraham Burman to his wife Ellen Burman. CEF service file attached. 888038 Pte Abraham Burman was originally posted to the 188th (Saskatchewan) Battalion, CEF. It appears that he survived the war (CWGC). The 188th (Saskatchewan) Battalion, CEF was based in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and began recruiting during the winter of 1915/16 throughout northern Saskatchewan. After sailing to England in October 1916, the battalion was absorbed into the 15th Reserve Battalion on January 4, 1917 and broken up for reinforcements.
