Canadian 1916 (Oliver) Pattern Large pack made of webbing with leather straps and brass studs. One strap is broken and sack is dirty with a lot of writing in ink on it. Stamped on the inside is "242 N BTTN". [The 242nd Battalion was a Forestry Battalion from Montreal.] Also on the inside in ink: "Grouse Feb 26 / 38 K.M.; Capilano 8/5/38; Albert Clifford" On the outside of the pack: "Exact fare / Ladies Entrance / Hotdogs 10 cents / Cold Puppies 5 cents / Exit / No Parking.
