72nd Regt officers - Departure for Front (Ship), 1914
The official caption is the 72nd Regiment, Seaforth Highlanders of Canada at Hastings Park, Vancouver, BC, 1918. The troops are wearing CEF tunics and forage caps so they are most likely from the 1st (BC) Depot Battalion. The photo shows the domed structure of the Horticultural Exhibition Building and two guard piquets on duckboards.
The 1st Depot Battalion, B.C. Regiment provided drafts to the 1st Reserve Battalion, which reinforced the 72nd Battalion, CEF.
