ALLIED REGIMENTS OF THE BRITISH ARMY

RÉGIMENTS ALLIÉS DE L'ARMÉE BRITANNIQUE

Postcard - 2nd Seaforths, Fort George

Postcard - 2nd Seaforths, Fort George, Scotland The 2nd Seaforth at Fort George 1909-1912: In 1909 the 2nd Seaforth moved to Fort George. The battalion took full advantage of being in its Regimental area again by training with the Seaforth and Cameron Brigade of the Territorial Force, parading with the 3rd (Special Reserve) Battalion, and sending companies to train and camp at Strathpeffer, Loch Broom, Lossiemouth and Grantown-on-Spey. It went by rail to Thurso and then marched back to Fortrose, crossing the Firth from Chanonry to Fort George in small boats. Next year a similar march was carried out through Morayshire, and in 1911 through Easter Ross. It moved to Shorncliffe, England in 192 and remained there until the outbreak of WW II when it was deployed to France as part of the BEF.
