"Military Medal - Pte Malcolm Rae of Port Coquitlam"

"Military Medal - Pte Malcolm Rae of Port Coquitlam" From the Regimental History, page 189: [At Agira] ... There were many others during this action whose bravery could be mentioned, but two privates, both of whom were awarded the Military Medal, deserve special notice. One is Pte. Malcolm Rae, a regimental despatch rider, who was at one point ordered to bring up the anti-tank guns to a position where it was necessary to ride along a half-mile stretch of road under enemy observation and heavy mortar fire which had already cost the Seaforths a number of casualties. On his first trip he was wounded in the chest by a mortar bomb bursting close by. Despite his wound and continual enemy fire, Rae made four more trips to bring up additional guns, only ceasing at nightfall when he was ordered to go to the R.A.P. Attached to Media.
