University of British Columbia (UBC) Commerce Newsletter, Vol. 2 No. 1 - (Danby on page 4), Fall 1971 DANBY NAMED TO CO-ORDINATE ADMINISTRATION A former senior military officer in the Canadian Army has been appointed Senior Administrative Assistant in the Faculty of Commerce. E. D. (Dick) Danby will be responsible to Dean White for the co-ordination of all administrative support for the faculty. In addition, many of the administrative duties now performed by individual members of the faculty will be Mr. Danby's responsibility. Mr. Danby will also relieve the Dean of routine administration and will take an active part in the managerial side of Commerce Comments and the Journal of Business Administration. Mr. Danby is recently retired from the Canadian Armed Forces with the rank of Brigadier General. A former Army Commander for B.C., his final posting before retirement was Military Attache to the Canadian Embassy in Washington, DC. He also spent seven years as a member of the faculty at the senior defence and army colleges and has a broad knowledge of management and administration. ·
