Lt Col Cecil Merritt, VC War Heroes Float in a Victory Loan parade on Burrard Street, Vancouver, 1942. The photo shows four soldiers in battledress standing "at ease" with their Lee-Enfield rifles on the back of a pickup truck. There is a very large poster of Lt Col Merritt in the back of the truck..The float was donated by the I.B.M. company representing Canadian Army heroes. W.C. Mainwaring was possibly the Commissioner of the parade. The side of the float states: "For Matchless Gallantry and Inspiring Leadership" on the side and on the driver's door: "Canadian Army Heroes". In the background is the store MacDonald and Dunsmuir Ltd.
