"The Royal Guard" - Honour Guard for HRH Princess Margaret, 16 July 1958. The soldiers are formed up in green coatees and Kilmarnock bonnets. The photo was taken in the parking lot of the Seaforth Armoury. The Princess has not yet arrived. Her Royal Highness Princess Margaret inspected the 100-man Royal Guard when she visited Vancouver in July, 1958. Under R.S.M. Tankard's direction their drill was brought up to such a high standard that many onlookers thought the Guard, smartly turned out in their new green tunics, was composed of veterans (although almost half of them were student recruits).
