Honour Guard for HRH Princess Margaret, Vancouver Airport, 16 July, 1958

Honour Guard being inspected by HRH Princess Margaret, 16 July 1958. The photo was taken at Vancouver Airport. Major David Fairweather is the Guard Commander. The soldiers are formed up in green coatees and Kilmarnock bonnets. Her Royal Highness Princess Margaret inspected the 100-man Royal Guard when she visited Vancouver in July, 1958. Under R.S.M. Tankard's direction their drill was brought up to such a high standard that many onlookers thought the Guard, smartly turned out in their new green tunics, was composed of veterans (although almost half of them were student recruits).
