FRONT INTÉRIEUR, 1914 - 1919

Letter from Stewart Watson, RAF to Mrs. A.B. De Long thanking her for a care parcel dated 5 Dec, 1918.

Letter from Canadian soldier, 628504 (28841) Stewart Watson, CEF attached to the Royal Air Force (RAF) to Mrs. A.B. De Long thanking her for a care parcel. The letter is dated 5 December, 1918 from Upper Heyford, Oxfordshire. Before the War he served in the 6th DCOR in Vancouver. RAF Upper Heyford was a RAF station located 8 km NW of Bicester near the village of Upper Heyford, Oxfordshire. The station was first used by the Royal Flying Corps in 1916 but was not brought into use for flying until July 1918 by the Royal Air Force. CEF attestation attached. Mrs. De Long organized and forwarded parcels to CEF troops who were serving overseas. The letters in this collection date from late 1918 and early 1919. They are thank you letters to her. It appears that all of the recipients lived or still had family in the North Burnaby area.
