A Seaforth firing a Thompson submachine gun on a makeshift range in a copse of trees, believed to be in England, 1943. His comrade is leaning on the shooter's shoulder. From the regimental history, page 136: "In May, 1943 the Seaforths were issued with .... Thompson sub-machine carbines, excellent for street and house fighting, were made available in May also, which further increased the fire power of the platoon to an extent which more than equalled that of a company of the unit's C.E.F. battalion when it went into action over 25 years earlier."
