Thomas Percival Elder - Correspondence 1917

Letter of April 21st, 1917 from Thomas Percival Elder to his brother Albert "Bert" James Elder of Ottawa Ontario. Transcription: France: April 21 1917 Dear Bert, Since writing last two parcels arrived one with those dandy pies etc. and the other containing the neighbors cakes. They were intact and in good shape and you will know which ones I am referring to. Thank Flossie and you very very much. I got the one with the pies while up the line and they were very acceptable [?] not only to myself but the others in our headquarters dugout where I then was. Perhaps the censor agrees with one if he was among those present! I expect to leave France within the next few days for Blighty to take an officers training course and I hope the damn war finishes first. Lloyd and McGregor two who signed that epistle to Flossie are going with me. It was Lloyd's brother who was killed. Will write again shortly. Yours, Percy.
