Thomas Percival Elder - Correspondence 1917

Letter of May 17th, 1917 from Thomas Percival Elder to his sister in law Flossie Winnifred Elder of Ottawa Ontario. The letter is written on Maple Leaf Club letterhead. Transcription: Dear Flossie, It is some time since I wrote you I believe, but I know it is a much longer time since I heard from you. Luck has been with one in the first place I am [?] for a course commencing in July and in the second place I am on the balance of my 14 days leave which I hardly expected to get. I am enjoying myself very much and have taken in several theatres. It is raining to-day the first since I came over. I am going up to see Mrs L during her husband's absence 'orful ain't it.' For the first time since last September I got my kilts out and put them on, on Monday They are certainly the best for this hot weather and then the swank as well. It is rather a tiresome thing writing when there is nothing coming my way in that respect. Your brother, TP Elder
