Thomas Percival Elder - Correspondence 1917
Letter of November 22nd, 1917 from Thomas Percival Elder to his sister in law Flossie Winnifred Elder of Ottawa Ontario.
Transcription:
Dear Flossie,
This army life does not furnish very much variety for letter writing and as I think I have done so exceedingly well in that line the reaction is beginning to set in.
I was up before the "Air Board" and was marked temporary unfit for the R.F.C. and given one month to get over being shaky by cutting down my smokes. Otherwise I am O.K. to them and that meant
A lot. I am going to see Ted Logie at Universities War Hospital South Hampton on Tuesday next and shall let you know how he is but from his letters I take it he is not bad, only a shrapnel wound in his left forearm.
Things are just the same with Murray and I. Tell me if he doesn't write and if so as his superior officer I shall make him. It made me snicker when he saluted me!
Yours,
Percy
