FTX Highland Teaghlach
Affiliated cadet units of the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada came together at Camp Byng from 1–3 May 2026 for a seniors-only, multi-unit field training exercise designed to strengthen morale, leadership, and Seaforth esprit de corps. The activity brought together over 60 senior cadets from 1867 RCACC, 2893 RCACC, 72 RCACC, 135 RCACS, 2812 RCACC, 2963 RCACC, and 2277 RCACC, representing a broad cross-section of affiliated units. Over the weekend, cadets participated in structured team-building challenges, summer biathlon (run-and-shoot with air rifles), and orienteering—each activity aimed at fostering teamwork, resilience, and inter-corps connection at the senior level. The results were immediate: stronger bonds across units, increased confidence in leadership roles, and a shared sense of identity within the Seaforth family. Building on this momentum, plans are already underway to expand the scope and complexity of next year’s exercise. If the laughter, friendly rivalry, and a few sore legs from the biathlon course are any indication, this was a weekend well spent—and one that cadets are already eager to repeat.
