Seaforth Highlanders Celebrate Two Regimental Honours

April 2026 | The Seaforth Highlanders of Canada

The Seaforth Highlanders of Canada are proud to celebrate two outstanding members of our regimental family who have recently been recognized for their exceptional service and dedication — one through a distinguished military appointment, and another through a prestigious award for volunteer service to Canada.

Chief Warrant Officer Mark Lundie, MMM, CD Appointed to the Order of Military Merit

The Seaforth Highlanders of Canada extend their heartfelt congratulations to Chief Warrant Officer Mark Lundie, MMM, CD, on his appointment to the Order of Military Merit — one of the Canadian Armed Forces' most esteemed honours.

Established in 1972, the Order of Military Merit recognizes meritorious service and exceptional dedication displayed by members of the Canadian Armed Forces. Appointment to the Order is a mark of the highest distinction, reserved for those whose contributions have gone far above and beyond the ordinary demands of military duty.

CWO Lundie's appointment is a testament to a career defined by professionalism, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to the soldiers under his charge and the institution he has served with great distinction. Throughout his time with the Seaforths, CWO Lundie has embodied the regimental values of service, integrity, and excellence — qualities that have inspired those around him and strengthened the fabric of our regiment.

His recognition by the Order of Military Merit reflects not only his personal achievements, but the calibre of soldier and leader that the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada are proud to call one of our own.

Master Corporal (Retired) Jarret Chow Awarded the Sovereign's Volunteer Medal

The Seaforth Highlanders of Canada are equally proud to celebrate the award of the Sovereign's Volunteer Medal to Master Corporal (Retired) Jarret Chow, in recognition of his outstanding and sustained volunteer service to Canada.

The Sovereign's Volunteer Medal honours Canadians who have given generously of their time and energy in voluntary service to their communities and country. It is a recognition that speaks to the character of the individual — a willingness to serve not for personal gain, but out of a deep sense of duty and commitment to others.

MCpl (Ret'd) Chow's award reflects a spirit of service that has extended well beyond his years of uniform service with the regiment. His contributions as a volunteer stand as a shining example of the values the Seaforth Highlanders have always championed: community, selflessness, and the belief that every act of service — however quiet or unheralded — makes Canada a better place.

We are proud of MCpl (Ret'd) Chow and grateful for the example he continues to set for serving members and veterans alike.

Cabar Fèidh!

The Seaforth Highlanders of Canada congratulate both CWO Lundie and MCpl (Ret'd) Chow on these well-deserved honours. Their recognition brings great pride to the regiment and to the entire Seaforth family.
